Background
Trevor Todd was born to be a copper, Trevor had been brought up under strict rules laid down by his dad, who had worked himself up though the ranks to Inspector Todd during his service spanning a quarter of a century between the years 1923 to 1950, In the war he was a Sgt by day, arp warden by night. Always protecting Prestwich from both criminals and the might of the Lufftwaffa. Under his guiding hand Trevor had followed his dads rules to the letter, He had been taught the difference between right and wrong, however it was the shock shooting of his dad in 1950 during a daring bank robbery at Martins bank in the city center while assigned to help the Yard that really brought it home to Trevor he must join up as soon as he can, The film The Blue Lamp he saw at the Park cinema the same year as his dad was shot had also motivated Toddy to join up. His fathers killer has never been brought to justice. Will Toddy track down his killer? Using genuine events and crimes of the time the story will unfold the history of the local area and how we used to live.
Chief Constable Todd
This site was first put on line in October 2007 on USA servers who went bust, taking the content with it, After Mr Todd's untimely death i wasnt sure if it was right to continue with the name but after seeing the back stabbing ways of the GMP i decided to continue and try and carry on with his good work and try and keep the streets safe. If this site stopps one yob from vandelising something from our past by helping them gain an interest in local history then it will be worthwhile.
We should remember Mr Todd for what he achieved and NOT for the stories left behind by the press. I am sure his family prefer to be left alone to enable them to get on with life.
